Number of Councillors to be elected 5
1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Town Hall, Church
Street, Barnsley, S70 2TA between 9am and 5pm on any working day from the date of
publication of this notice (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Tuesday 4
April 2023.
2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, ,
Town Hall, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2TA during the times stated above.
3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 04 May 2023.
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12
midnight on Monday 17 April 2023. Applications can be made online:
https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral
Registration Officer, Town Hall, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2TA by 5pm on Tuesday
18 April 2023.
6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document
valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday
25 April 2023. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online
https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration
Officer, Town Hall, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2TA by 5 pm Tuesday 25 April 2023
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical
incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer,
Town Hall, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2TA by 5 p.m. on Thursday 04 May 2023. The
physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2023. To apply
on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot
go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2023.

To qualify you must reside in the Parish or within 3 miles of the Parish boundary and be over 18 years of age, or you must work or own land within the Parish.
Local Council elections are being held in May 2023 and therefore the post is for the period until the elections.
The deadline for applications is Friday 13th January 2023.
